A Rare Look Inside: Wat Bowon Sathan Sutthawat

Step inside one of Bangkok’s lesser-seen historic sites during a rare public opening of Wat Bowon Sathan Sutthawat, a temple located within the grounds of the former Front Palace.

The special opening is part of “Roots of the City: The Path of Rattanakosin,” a cultural route organised by the Fine Arts Department exploring the history and heritage of Rattanakosin Island.

Visitors can enter the temple’s ordination hall to see its historic architecture and rarely viewed murals while learning more about the site’s connection to Bangkok’s early Rattanakosin period.

The wider cultural route also connects museums, exhibitions and heritage sites around Rattanakosin Island, making this a great starting point for exploring Bangkok Old Town.
