What the Doc! 2026 – International Documentary Film Festival

Documentary lovers can catch free film screenings in Bangkok for 11 days as What the Doc! International Documentary Film Festival returns for its second edition.

Running from 3–13 September 2026, the festival explores documentary filmmaking from Thailand and around the world, with a programme spanning competition films, international selections, jury programmes and special screenings. The opening film is Songsakan by Thai filmmaker Uruphong Raksasad.

Best of all, every film and every screening is free. All films also include both Thai and English subtitles.

Screenings take place at two cinemas in Bangkok: Doc Club & Friends at Cloud11 and Century The Movie Plaza Sukhumvit. Both venues are easily accessible by BTS.

Good to Know

There are no online reservations. Tickets are distributed at each venue 30 minutes before the screening begins, with a limit of one ticket per person per screening. Each visitor must collect their own ticket, so someone else cannot pick one up for you.

Doc Club & Friends is on the 2nd floor of Cloud11, with BTS Punnawithi Exit 6 the closest station. Century The Movie Plaza Sukhumvit is directly beside BTS On Nut.
