Meet YOYO, one of MINISO’s fastest-growing proprietary characters, which has quickly developed an international following through collectible figures, plush toys and playful lifestyle products.
Free in Bangkok recently visited MINISO Friends at Terminal 21 Asok to explore the growing YOYO collection in person. The collection stood out for its detailed finishes, playful designs and bright colour palette.

Recognisable by her round face, rosy cheeks and colourful costumes, YOYO is designed around curiosity, imagination and everyday adventures. Across the collection, the character appears in a variety of playful themes—from animals and fantasy characters to food-inspired designs.
Part of the appeal is seeing how YOYO is reimagined in each new outfit. Some designs are available as plush toys and accessories, while others appear as small collectible figures and surprise-box editions.
According to MINISO, YOYO is now available in 53 countries and regions and generated more than US$14 million in global merchandise sales during the first six months following its launch.

Bangkok recently hosted YOYO’s first overseas birthday celebration, marking an important step in the character’s growth beyond China.
The celebration brought the world of YOYO to life through large-scale installations, interactive experiences and colourful photo opportunities. Thai young star Abigail attended the celebration with her mother, actress and fashion icon Chompoo Araya, adding a distinctly Thai pop-culture moment to YOYO’s first overseas birthday.
Although the birthday celebration has ended, the wider YOYO collection remains available in MINISO stores throughout Thailand.

During our visit, we found everything from miniature collectible figures to soft toys, keychains and boxed sets. The displays are bright, detailed and designed to make browsing part of the experience even if you are only stopping by to see what is new.
The small figures were a particular highlight. Each one gives YOYO a different personality through its costume, pose and tiny accessories. For collectors, the surprise-box format adds another element of fun, as the specific design inside is not revealed until the package is opened.

YOYO products can be found at MINISO branches across Thailand, although the range may vary between locations. Larger Bangkok stores are likely to offer a broader selection and more elaborate character displays.
Whether you are already a collector or simply curious about the characters appearing across Bangkok’s shops and pop-culture spaces, YOYO offers a cheerful introduction to MINISO’s growing world of original characters.
