Running for four months across 10 locations around Bangkok, BAB 2026 brings works by Thai and international contemporary artists into museums, cultural spaces, historic temples and some of the city’s most recognisable landmarks.

This year’s theme, Angels and Mara, explores the space between opposing forces — light and darkness, hope and fear, virtue and temptation, spirituality and desire. Inspired partly by Bangkok’s identity as the “City of Angels,” the theme invites artists to examine the contradictions and uncertainties of contemporary life.

Visitors can discover contemporary artworks in dramatically different settings, from galleries and modern developments to centuries-old temples.
