River City Bangkok: Two Free Art Exhibitions Exploring Nature, Memory, and Imagination
If you’re looking for free things to do in Bangkok this season, River City Bangkok is hosting two engaging contemporary art exhibitions that invite visitors to slow down, reflect, and experience different perspectives through visual storytelling. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or simply looking for a creative way to spend an afternoon, both exhibitions offer a unique opportunity to explore thought-provoking themes in one of Bangkok’s leading art destinations.
The Biophilia Scape
Dates: 14 May – 5 July 2026
Location: RCB Galleria 4, 2nd Floor
The Biophilia Scape is the second solo exhibition by artist Praiya Ketkool. Inspired by the concept of biophilia—the innate human connection to nature—the exhibition presents a series of detailed paintings that encourage viewers to look more closely at the natural world around them. Through intimate depictions of plants, flowers, and often-overlooked organic forms, the artist invites reflection on the delicate relationship between humanity and the environment. The exhibition offers a calm and contemplative experience that celebrates the beauty and complexity of life in all its forms.
Museum of Monsters
Dates: 8 May – 21 June 2026
Location: RCB Galleria 5, 3rd Floor
Museum of Monsters takes visitors on a journey through memory, emotion, and personal growth. Using monsters as symbolic representations of fears, challenges, and hidden experiences, the exhibition explores how difficult moments can shape our identities over time. Through imaginative artworks and immersive installations, visitors are encouraged to reflect on their own experiences and discover meaning within the struggles that often remain unseen.
Together, these exhibitions offer two very different yet complementary experiences—one rooted in our connection with nature and the other in the landscapes of memory and emotion.
Location: River City Bangkok
Time: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM Daily
Entry: Free
Good to know: Both exhibitions are free to visit and can easily be explored in a single visit. River City Bangkok is home to multiple galleries, riverside cafés, and cultural spaces, making it an excellent destination for art lovers seeking free cultural experiences in Bangkok.
