Profile
Marvel at the architectural beauty of Wat Benchamabophit Dusitwanaram, famously known as the Marble Temple. Commissioned by King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) in 1899, this royal monastery is built from immaculate white Carrara marble imported from Italy and represents the perfect harmony between Thai and European design. Inside, visitors can admire the revered Phra Buddha Chinnarat image, elegant cloisters housing 52 Buddha statues, and intricate gilded details throughout the ubosot (ordination hall). Located in the Dusit district, near the royal palaces and government buildings, Wat Benchamabophit is one of Bangkok’s most photographed and spiritually significant temples.
